Gabrielle K Crombie

Gabrielle is a third year PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle, under the supervision of Jon Hirst in the Mothers and Babies Research Centre at Hunter Medical Research Institute. Her PhD research has focused on understanding the role of perinatal stresses in the long-term behavioural and neurodevelopmental outcomes of offspring. This work has particularly focused on prenatal stress and its impact on the inhibitory GABAergic pathways in the developing brain, and further, the relationship between placental functions and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
